Well once again Kevin Durant put on a clinic for everyone in attendance at the Ford Center. I think the warriors were content to sit back and take notes because nothing they were going to do on defense could stop him last night. Unbelievable performance with 45 points! 2 points from his season high of 47. Don’t look now but the Thunder have been winning some important games and the win/loss column is starting to get uneven. Uneven in the wins column which is the exact opposite of last year’s Thunder team. They did suffer a tough 3 game skid by losing back to back close road games against Memphis and Cleveland. They have bounced back nicely beating Denver and Golden State. Read the rest of this entry >>
Thunder rally but lose to Cavs
Well the Thunder ended this last 4 game road trip on a down note but sometimes that’s not such a bad thing. Look at the greatest movie of all time, The Empire Strikes Back, as an example. Look at Lebron James as the Boba Fett of the NBA at the moment because he once again put up Lebron numbers. Read the rest of this entry >>
23 and one to grow on
Well the Dallas game was tough to watch at the end because you just knew Dirk was going to hit the big shots to put it away. And…….he did and the Mavericks won a nail biter 99-98! The good news was in the mid-day game while I was stuck at work. The Thunder got to 23 wins by beating Atlanta which ties them for the total number of wins last year. Why is this good news? Because they’re only half way through the year and are already 23-18. So unless they go on a real cold streak the rest of the year…. Then they should beat last years record and lets hope that’s not their main goal. Read the rest of this entry >>
Westbrook shaping up
The Thunder get one more home game tonight against the spurs before heading to Dallas Friday. They took care of the Knickerbockers on Monday winning 106-88. Keven Durant had ANOTHER 30 point game but Russell Westbrook stepped in and had a fantastic 17 point 5 assists game. The criticism of Russell Westbrook as a PG is abating as he is consistently having these types of nights this year. Read the rest of this entry >>
Home is where your Heart is!
It was a trip back home for the Hornets the other night and a trip back to the city where Chris Paul won his rookie of the year. Oh the memories…….. Wednesday night was a time to put the nostalgia on hold for a while because the Thunder have been rolling lately. New Orleans will always hold a special place in our heart but we have to learn to take care of business. New Orleans and Houston just seem to have the Thunder’s number this year. The Hornets captured the victory 97-92 Wednesday night and captured their 4th road game victory!!! Being #4 on the list is not a good thing by any means. It also turns out it was the 10th straight win against the OKC franchise. Read the rest of this entry >>
New Year
Well a few things to get to. First of all I hope everyone had a good New Years. The Thunder had a tough loss the other night against Milwaukee that they probably could have closed out. Durant has been lighting it up and has now had 7 straight games where he’s scored 30 points or more. Durant had 31 points in Saturdays loss but struggled late in the 4th and OT where the Thunder could have really used him. A lot of the credit has to go to the defensive efforts of “Luc Richard Mbah a Moute” and apparently it’s just as hard to score on him late in the game as it is to spell his name. Maynor not disappointing
First off let me say that I hope everyone had a great holiday and I hope everyone will have a great New Years. New Years or as I like to call it “Amateur Night”. Read the rest of this entry >>
Good News Bad News
There’s lots of good news and just enough bad news to match it. The bad news is the Thunder lost last night but the good news is that Durant finally got back to high scorer, putting up 30. The bad news is the Thunder have waived Shaun Livingston. The good news is the Thunder have added Eric Maynor which should be a nice addition! However I was sad about losing Livingston because he has tons of potential. I’m not 100% positive but it looks like there might have been concerns about Livingston’s injury and lingering effects.
