The future is brighter than you think!

June 13th, 2009 | by agentorange777 |

I’m very excited to be blogging about the Oklahoma City Thunder. As an Oklahoman at heart I can say with certainty that I’m full of heart and hope for the Thunder. The future is looking very bright for our young team and it’s safe to say their passion bucket runneth over. For a lot of teams/bloggers this could possibly be a very slow time of year, with the exception of the two teams playing in the finals of course. For the Thunder and Thunder faithful the draft is very big piece of the puzzle. There are a lot of cynics that say this draft is looking weak with the exception of Griffin (who we would all love to get). I disagree with that and I definitely think there are a few key role players and maybe even a few future stars in this particular draft. I definitely think there are future stars in the point guard class. One of those pg’s in particular could land in OKC. I’m sure you’ve seen the mock drafts and for the next week or so I’ll be writing about the pros and cons of those potential draftees. So here’s the usual suspects who you may or may not be rooting for next year.

1. James Hardin (6′5 but a 6′11 wingspan!!!!!)

2. Ricky Rubio (Working out with Thunder this weekend)

3. Hasheem Thabeet  (One word: Potential)

4. Stephen Curry (I love this guy but 3 is probably a little high for him)

5. Tyreke Evans (Good player but a very questionable jump shot)

The one thing we can count on is that this draft will make for good entertainment and excitement. Until next time.

“After I hit a home run I had a habit of running the bases with my head down. I figured the pitcher already felt bad enough without me showing him up rounding the bases.” -Mickey Mantle
